About Me
Lucy grew up in Denver, Colorado, as part of a fourth-generation real estate family, where dinner conversations centered on investments, long-term thinking, and the value of hard work. Her grandfather, Papou, transformed the family’s modest candy business into Denver’s largest privately-held real estate company and played a key role in bringing Major League Baseball to the city. His motto, “Get in the game,” shaped her approach to life.
From an early age, Lucy was immersed in entrepreneurship. At eight, she launched a silver polishing service for friends and neighbors. By ten, she was running a 30-person soccer camp.
At Stanford, Lucy studied Mechanical Engineering and founded Flair, a costume rental business. She captained the Stanford Lacrosse team, earned All-American honors, competed on the US Senior National Lacrosse team, and played Division I Field Hockey.
After Stanford, Lucy took on challenges worldwide. She played semi-professional field hockey in Australia before becoming COO at Barukas, a Brazilian specialty nut company. There, she scaled operations, improved financial systems, and led a team of 65. From designing the first-ever Baruka nut processing machine to building partnerships with clients like Whole Foods, she developed expertise in hands-on leadership and navigating complex environments, driving growth while preserving a business's core.
Today, as the leader of Bonnie Brae Expeditions, Lucy applies those lessons to partner with business owners, honoring their legacies while unlocking new potential. She focuses on creating lasting impact through thoughtful stewardship and strategic growth.
